Book: Bounty Hunters of the Palace of Amino
Chapter 10: Crocodile Clips

"Buzz him, Panman." Peter the Ace said.

Panman flicked a switch on the detention cell's control panel. Ken Kasino wailed in agony as an extreme current of electricity made its way through his squat frame. Scorch marks appeared on his nose, hands and feet, the places where large crocodile clips were gripping tightly.

"Please tell me where I can find Lawrence."

Ken looked at Peter the Ace. "No damn way, man!" he said.
"Buzz him again, Panman."

Ken shrieked. If he hadn't been strapped onto the bench the total muscle spasm that he experienced would certainly have sent him flying around the room.

"Okay!!!" Ken shouted with great distress. "But you must first grant me asylum, Lawrence will try to kill me when he finds out."

"Of course." Peter the Ace replied. "You will remain in this detention cell until we return to the Palace of Amino. There you will be put on trial for you crimes. Lawrence will not get to you."

"That's not quite what I meant!"

"That's all you're going to get!"

Ken looked annoyed.

"So?" Peter the Ace said softly.

Ken replied. "So what?"

"Where is Lawrence?"

"He is on board his starship."

"Where is his starship?"

"As far as I know it's at the heart of the Sombreus Nebula."

"As far as you know?"

"I haven't spoken to him for a while, have I!"

"If you're lying to me," Peter the Ace said in a typically nasty way, "we will buzz you out of existence." He waited a couple of seconds, then continued. "Slowly!"

Ken pretended to be unaffected.

Peter the Ace turned to Panman. "Punch in a course for the Sombreus Nebula." He said. "If Ken is telling the truth, it looks like we are finally going to get the chance to destroy Lawrence and his ship once and for all."

"I wouldn't be too hasty." Ken said, sneering greasily.

"And why not?" Peter the Ace asked.

"Didn't you know? He has a rather important guest aboard at the moment."

"Who?"

"A friend of yours. A young sexy girl named Tara."

Peter the Ace and Panman were shocked.

"The bastard!" Panman shouted, angrily slapping his palm against the wall.

Ken howled with distress. Panman had accidentally turned on the power and sent a huge surge of electrical torment coursing through the casino king's body. Ken shuddered violently.

"Better turn that off." Peter the Ace said.

Too late. The straps that where keeping Ken secured to the bench ripped noisily in half. He leapt into the air, still twitching ferociously. The crocodile clips were pulled off leaving deep bloody gashes behind them. Ken slammed into the floor cracking both his shoulder blades. He laid their, unconscious. Panman pushed the switch to the off position.

"What a mess!" He said.

"You'd better dress his wounds before he regains consciousness." Peter the Ace said leaving the cell, "I'll go and get us on the correct course. We must save Tara. There is no telling what Lawrence may do to her."

Panman waited until Peter the Ace was out of sight. He looked at the crumpled body of Mr Kasino. "Serves you right, Ken." He said. "You bony girl armed piece of shit!"
